David Keen, Student Pastor
David was raised going to church every time the doors were open. At the age of six, he walked an aisle, filled out a card, was dunked in a pool of water, and thought he was safe from Hell. David lived this lie of believing he was a Christian until the age of fourteen when he came to realize his need for a savior. He knew that he was lost and that the only way for him to receive eternal life in Heaven was through Jesus Christ. As the Holy Spirit drew David to Himself through conviction and showing him his need for Him because of his sinful nature, David surrendered his life to Him. He was born again; born from above! He became a new creation in Christ because of His grace and unconditional love for all of us. David says he still struggles to understand this grace and love, but he prays that he will never forget to be thankful and give God all the praise and glory for these things that his finite mind will never grasp. David’s relationship with the Master grows stronger, more mature, and more intimate everyday through the process of sanctification.
One Sunday evening, at the age of fourteen, David surrendered to the call of God on his life to serve Him in full-time ministry. Since then, God has opened numerous doors for David to serve Him in ministry. He has had several internships; including one at his home church of First Baptist Church in Richmond Hill, GA, two on staff with an evangelical ministry called Frontliners, and one here at Hardin Baptist Church. David is currently serving as the full-time Student Pastor here at Hardin. David’s objective is to be on mission with Christ to make disciples of all people primarily through building local church ministries targeted at leading high school and middle school students to know Christ in a real and intimate way. David says, “God desires from us a broken and contrite heart and I pray that this ministry will be one of brokenness and transparency shining in Christ for all to see."
